Listen to Our Latest Recordings

Several weeks ago, we were at Cue Studios in Falls Church to record several of our songs. Here are the results. Included are the tunes Maintenant, Menilmontant, La samba de mon coeur qui bat, and Consider Me Gone. Click on the links BELOW to hear them. (Note: the songs on the right side of this page are some of our own home-made recordings, so be sure to click the one’s below for the professional recordings.)

Huge thanks to guest artist Rod Goad who performed on drums and percussion and Ken Schubert, Chief Engineer at Cue Studios, who took care of all the technical details to produce these recordings.

French Coast Café is Carole Bausell on vocals, David Savage on cornet and harmonica, Duane Siler on guitar, and Larry Golfer on bass.

We hope you enjoy these songs.

The Epicure was listed in “The Best Place to Hear Singer-Songwriters” in the Washingtonian Magazine, June 2016

This showcase has been offered since August 2011 by Ron Goad and The Songwriters’ Association of Washington (SAW), a nonprofit organization that hosts the annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and publicizes opportunities for the music community monthly at SAW.org

French Coast Café is a trio of musicians from the Washington, DC area who play what we call French World Music. With Carole Bausell on vocals and percussion, Duane Siler on guitar, and Larry Golfer on electric bass, the group’s niche is both classic and contemporary. We play mostly French music from France as well as French-speaking Canada and other Francophone countries, along with original tunes by our guitarist, Duane.  The music includes French classics, samba, jazz. gypsy jazz, blues, Cajun/Zydeco and world music.

Great Fun at Cajun “Fais Do Do” Dance Party and Upcoming Events

French Coast Café, with guest guitarist Jack O’Meara, recently participated as one of 11 bands performing at a Louisiana-style “Fais Do DoCajun dance party. With a repertoire of tunes from Québec, France and Louisiana, French Coast Café continues to expand its exploration of French world music.

The party featured bands playing everything from traditional county such as local recording artist Karen Collins and Friends, to French Cajun trios  and a honky-tonk band, Mostly Honky Tonk, featuring lead singer Rob Petrie of Cold Hard Cash and the Petrified Pickers,  to the sounds of traditional and inventive Cajun and Zydeco-style dance music by Nutalusa and the Louisiana-style party band, the Wild Anacostias, playing  Mardi Gras, Street Parade Brass, Cajun, Zydeco, Funk, R&B & more.

French Coast Café has two upcoming events. One is a private summer kick-off party for a local realtor and one of my real estate photography clients, Jennifer Powell, of the Powell Team at Keller Williams Realty, at a local winery.

Then we have our performance at the Epicure Cafe at Ron Goad’s SAW.ORG Music Variety Showcase, on Wednesday, July 26, 7:30pm – 11:30pm. Everyone is invited to hear us as the featured act that evening at the Epicure along with several other local performing artists.

We’re looking forward to more performances this summer and will post them as they get confirmed.
